Metabolic Syndrome; It is defined as a combination of overweight, fat-cholesterol metabolism disorders, high blood pressure and sugar metabolism disorders (diabetes inspudus). Diabetes should be taken seriously because it causes serious organ damage, reduced quality of social life and significant financial losses, as well as cardiovascular diseases. Bariatric Surgery has both provided a superior result than all other treatment alternatives in the treatment of morbid obesity and has emerged as the most effective treatment of type 2 diabetes. The most distinctive feature of Metabolic Surgery applications is that it provides that type 2 diabetes can be treated by using surgical methods in individuals who are below the limits determined by body mass index.
The number of both obesity and metabolic syndrome is increasing all over the world. It is known that 1.1 billion of the world’s population are overweight and approximately 400 million are obese (Body Mass Index >30). Among the most important diseases accompanying obesity are metabolic diseases such as type II diabetes, coronary artery diseases and hypertension.
